Lost: Common Sense on Directing Children in Vocation Choice

Here is a fantastically sensible article by John Rosemont. Somebody needed to say it. YOU CAN'T BE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE!! Besides, what about the sovereignty of God and his call on our lives?

  1. LOL! Reminds me of something I regularly say..."I think I can, I think I can! The little engine that had no concept of reality."
Hey Jeanette, with the Pollyanna on CD discussion(s), did you have any particular questions that you used to prompt and promote analytical discussions?

  2. Hi Mills Family!
    Great to hear from you.
I ask my children if the author thinks people are basically good (true in My Fair Lady, The Little Princess, and many more books.) If the author believes men are basically good, then he has another explanation besides sin for why there are problems in the world. For example, My Fair Lady teaches that lack of education is the problem and therefore education will save us. Pollyanna seems to teach that all people need to be good is a bit of encouragement. If you want to look into this more there is a book called How to Read Slowly by James Sire, or in the interest of time, Voddie Baucham had an EXCELLENT lecture at the Desiring God Conference about three years ago. I think you can still download it for free.
    God bless you.
